Sustainability
As we progress into the second half of 2021, we have witnessed a huge increase in the number of manufacturers, suppliers and customers looking to establish a more sustainable footprint for themselves. Here at Kingdom Maintenance, providing a sustainable product and service is extremely important to us.
That is why, we are constantly researching the most efficient way we can improve our sustainability practice. To do so, we ensure our organisation follows our three sustainability steps:
- Establish and develop a knowledge of environmental sustainability in the everyday decision-making and behaviour of all of our employees.
- Use timber and timber products that are sourced and produced from sustainable materials.
- Maintain a working practice that reduces waste and conserves energy.
We are proud to have been recognised for our sustainability efforts by being awarded the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Certification back in June 2014.

Sustainable Materials
As part of our sustainability mission, ensuring the products and materials we use are sustainable is a huge part of our goal. Wood, UPVC and Aluminium are popular products of choice as they minimise the effects on the environment by lowering carbon emissions which ensure we are promoting a green approach.
However, this year organisations within the industry are under intense pressure to find sustainable materials due to a nationwide shortage of building materials. Due to a rise in demand, products such as timber, cement and many electrical goods are in short supply which unfortunately has led many organisations to delay projects.
Many factors such as price and Brexit have had a huge effect on the UK’s maintenance industry and we now witness many suppliers increasing their prices which is having a damaging effect on not only companies requiring the products, but the customers looking to have work done.
Here at Kingdom Maintenance, we have undeniably felt the effects of this. However, our sustainability mission and goals remain. Providing the highest quality products and service is at the forefront of our mission and we continue to do so while hope that the industry recovers.

Waste Management
Waste management is hugely important to us as this is what can ultimately cause a profound effect on the environment. Many of our products such as Timber, are easily disposed of as they can be used for our factory heating system and/or be recycled by an outsourced company.
When outsourcing companies to work with to dispose of our waste, we ensure we use a high-standard and professional service to comply with our 3-step sustainability goal. By doing so, Kingdom Maintenance have secured our KM has a Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) licence.
Join us in our mission to become more environmentally friendly and support Kingdom Maintenance’s mission to a greener working environment and life for all.
